چکیده

BackgroundThe occurrence and related predictors of acromial fracture following reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) have not been fully elucidated. The aim this study was to determine the incidence risk factors fractures after RTSA.MethodsWe conducted a multicenter, retrospective case-control 787 cases (29 in group 758 control group) that underwent RTSA performed by 6 surgeons. mean duration follow-up 31.6 ± 21.8 months (range, 12-136 months). Demographic variables (age, sex, arm dominance, body mass index, working status, bone mineral density [BMD]), clinical (preoperative diagnosis, previous operation, implant design, preoperative scores, screw size glenoid fixation, postoperative rehabilitation), radiographic (acromial thickness, critical angle, deltoid length, humeral offset lateral acromion) were investigated. To correlation, univariate analysis multivariate logistic regression with calculated odds ratios (ORs) performed.ResultsPostoperative occurred 29 shoulders (3.7%). Acromial detected at 10.0 1-66 months) postoperatively. Univariate revealed an significantly associated operation (38% [11 29] vs. 21% [156 758], P = .025) BMD (–2.33 –1.74, .013). Multivariate found (P .034; OR, 2.91; 95% confidence interval, 1.08-7.84) length .004; 1.04; 1.01-1.07).ConclusionAcromial is uncommon complication, overall 3.7%. A increased low RTSA. We performed. Postoperative 1.01-1.07).

Humeral-sided Radiographic Changes Following Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

Background: We sought to characterize humeral-sided radiographic changes at a minimum of 2 years after reverseshoulder arthroplasty (RSA) to determine their association with specific implantation techniques. Methods: The immediate and most recent postoperative anteroposterior radiographs of 120 shoulders with primary RSAand a minimum of 2-years of radiographic follow-up were an...

Scapula fracture and os acromiale after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.

An 80-year-old woman underwent a right reverse total shoulder arthroplasty for cuff tear arthropathy with no complications. She was discharged 3 days after surgery with well-controlled pain. However, 6 days postoperatively, she reported the onset of excruciating pain in her right shoulder, and conventional radiographs, including an axillary radiograph, were obtained.

Short Stem Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty Periprosthetic Type A Fracture.

Alterations have been made over the years to the standard reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) prosthetic components in an effort to decrease adverse events; this has led to the advent of a short humeral stem prosthesis. To the authors' knowledge, there are no reports describing the complication of a traumatic periprosthetic Wright and Cofield classification type A fracture with use of a ...

What is a Successful Outcome Following Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty?

BACKGROUND With variations in joint destruction, patient expectations and health status, it can be difficult to interpret outcomes following arthroplasty. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships between different outcome indicators in 44 patients followed for two years after a reverse shoulder arthroplasty. METHODS Prospectively collected outcomes included the Constant-Mu...

Bilateral anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty versus reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

The results of anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty and reverse shoulder arthroplasty have previously been reported separately. Although the indications differ, scenarios exist in which a patient may have a total shoulder arthroplasty on 1 shoulder and a reverse shoulder arthroplasty on the contralateral shoulder.Between 1992 and 2009, twelve patients underwent bilateral sequential primary shou...
